Today IE6 decided to shutdown ZA's TrueVector service. Pretty neat, really....get on the net and your firewall karks it. SDC is fine [IRC] ....Firefox is fine....Outlook is fine.....supposedly it was an issue with the MS Antispyware proggy....but shutting that down didn't help....IE6 was the culprit....;p

Am running Firefox instead... Will have to do a 'windows repair', I assume...to 'fix' IE...

OK...I seem to have IE running OK....and ZA is behaving....but currently the antispyware proggy is shutdown....looks like it's the one definite issue...

ZA was the issue. It was an internal updating service error (no user interaction involved).......it's now fixed internally.

I'm glad you brought this up, Jafo. I have had the vector service on Zoealarm shut down several times. I didn't know what was causing it. I usually use FF, but have been using IE6 a little bit. I don't use MS antispyware anymore. Not till it is the released version. It just disappeared off the start menu, and doesn't show up on the task panel anymore either. If I want to run a scan I have to go to progs to start it. And thanks yrag for clearing it up!

I might be doing a repair on my Norton Internet Security. ccapp.exe refuses to end on shutdown, which was supposed to be fixed in one of the updates. Occasionally NIS doesn't start with windows for no reason and I have to reboot - got to do that now as it ain't running and refuses to start... bleh!

I don't know why, but I feel that all the world is well if Jafo is peachy! LOL!

It never pays to be complacent.

All the previous 'issues' resolved themselves....only to be replaced with a worse one.... Drive Image 7 went belly-up.....cannot find....

'Virtual Volume Image driver'...which means it's the proverbial tits on a bull......useless....

Yrag saves the day yet again....this time it was a .Net hotfix that caused the dramas...

Next proggy to go gaga was ACDSee [v3] ....but this time it was a recent WB update that killed it...so I excluded it from WB and all was well....

....till the next one....

Sheesh! What, are you running Windows ME over there, Jafo?
