IE7 Tabbed Browsing Implementation

http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2005/05/26/422103.aspx
Rather fascinating account of implementing tabbed browsing into Internet Explorer 7. Kind of humanizes IE development.

I just hope they give the user all the control we've come to accept from the likes of Maxthon and NetCaptor (and non-IE tabbed browsers).

And major bonus points if they extend this to Windows Explorer!

The only thing I hope IE7 does is to knock Firefox's growing download count to a stand still and maybe bring some of those Firefox users back to IE.

Why?
I'm not bothered with what browser people use as long as the browser doesn't cause much headacke as a webdeveloper.

Yeah, why exactly? Competition is good, though I have to admit, I do tire of the holier than thou attitude of many Firefox users.

Right back at ya Tarkus..
I use both, IE, FF, I am also anticipating the release of IE7..

But you know what I mainly tire of? I tire of ignorance, specifically of those that try to argue IE's superiority over FF when clearly by comparison it is a substandard browser..Anyone that has used both for any length of time would most likely agree..

Personally I dont care what anyone uses, I am interested in reading opinions and or rants about the different browsers...But when the entire argument is based purely upon preference and not functionality and usability then is boils down to nothing but pure ignorance..

A fact is a fact, Firefox is better than the current MS offering of IE..maybe 7 will be an improvment..maybe not, we will all just have to wait and see.. I for one hope it is, I'll use it, as well as continue to use FF.

Oh and did I mention I also use the Netscape Browser..::laughs:: It also has been deemed "Better than IE" My thoughts of it are it is still a little slow..great browser, just slow..

Hope that wasnt too "Holier than thou" for you.. Just simply observations from a user...

WRONG - as usual your wrong Zero. IE starts fater, displays more web pages properly than Firefox, Organizes Favorites better, and has better options.

If you seriously think Firefox is better your living in a delusional world. After all if Firefox WAS better they would have a bigger market share.

I base my arguments on facts and anything besides preferance.

This argument reminds me of Zero's arguments about Intel vs AMD - Well Zero - open up your mind.

On that note, I rest my case Tarkus..

Thanks for providing a perfect example of the holier than thou attitude to which I was referring.

Please learn the difference between fact and opinion. You'll be taken a lot more seriously.

I can name an entire list in regard to FF...
And shall, but you first...
Tell me what makes IE better than FF..

You're missing the point entirely. If I were to try and convince you what makes IE better than FF, I would have a holier than thou IE attitude.

The point is not that one is better than the other, but that it's entirely subjective, and each person has to decide which program is better for them.

See, that's the problem. Way too my FF users (not necessarily you) think their opinion is the only one that counts, and that there's something wrong with anyone who doesn't agree with them. (It's the same thing with many Linux and Mac users.)

I have zero problem with anyone perferring FF over IE, I only have a problem when they try to preach to me that there's something wrong with me for preferring IE (actually Maxthon).

In short, you should use whatever suits you best, and I'll do likewise.

LoL...
If I wasnt busily trying to defend my new label, perhaps the point would have been taken!
I have said the very same thing about other products over and over again.. Use what works best for you..
Anyway,

Makes sense,
No argument here,

Did I mention FF Kicks IE's Butt??

LoL!!..J/K.

::wonders about creating that nick:: "Holier than Thou"
