SysMetrix that shows case/CPU temp?

Hey all,

Is there a SysMetrix skin that shows case/CPU temp? In fahrenheit?

The newer SysMetrix program is said (by it's creator/website) that it can read MBM (motherboard monitor) readings, and is supposed to have (or some skins, anyway) a slot for the case and CPU temp.

However, even one of the skins that comes with SysMetrix install ("Tubes") is lacking that space/graphic. Might be a glitch, because when I mouse-over the "Net In" usage section it gives me the temps, but that's weird, because the secion just isn't showing up.

Any/all info would be appreciated.

(I cant even understanding the configuring of SysMetrix... heh).

One last thing... there are many choices, for example under MBM Temp-Value... which should be used? It's numbered like 1-10, and I have no idea what that means.

There are many options like this for fans etc.

Can someone explain any of this to me? It would be extremely helpful.

Thanks in advance for your help.

It's possible you need this http://mbm.livewiredev.com/..

I'm no expert on Sysmetrix at all (never used it!) so take that FWIW.

Aren't there some forums on the Sysmetrix website you can get info from - this would be the best place to ask I think.

MBM support came out quite a few builds back. You'll probably have to look at several pages in the gallery, but I've seen many skins that include CPU temp and a few that included quite a bit more. Sorry I can't be more specific but about six months ago it was hard to find a skin that din't have some MBM info.

If your trying to make your own skin I would suggest looking at one that has the info you wish to use to see how it's done. As far as skinning goes I think Sysmetrix is one of the easiest to start with. Check out the documentation provided with both programs for the specifics.

Problem is, I'm not really finding any SysM skins that have sections which show CPU/case temps.

Yeah, SysM came with a few skins, but the one that should have a graphical section for CPU temp, reading off MBM, is not showing up properly. Some glitch with the skin... I don't know.

There are no forums at SysM website, just info, none of which helps... and the forums on MBM website no longer exist.

I made a skin for SysMetrix that shows CPU and Motherboard (or Case) temperatures (I treat it as MB temp because it matches MB temp in the utility that came with my MB but I have a feeling it's actually the case temperature). It's called Sin City and you can get it here Link (I'm a bit new to these forums so if the link doesn't work just click my name and go to my skins).

The values are in Celsius but it's fairly easy to change:

- Right-click on sysmetrix and choose Configuration
- Make sure the Theme Settings subtree is open and find the Textual Information item
- In Textual Information find and select the MBM Temp 3 - Value item
- On the right side find the Format text field, it'll either be empty or have @ in it
- Type F, replacing @ if it's there - that will change the value to Fahrenheit
- Then find the Postfix field and replace the C with F (make sure not to delete the little degrees sign there )
- Finally do the same thing for the MBM Temp 1 - Value item

As you can see Temp 3 is the CPU while Temp 1 is the Case/MB - I found that out by comparing these to my Bios temps. For me rest of temp values are always zero so I've no idea what they're responsible for.
If you want to also figure out the fan speeds you'll have to do the same thing, i.e. match the values with those found in some other software.

BTW, right now the skin doesn't have Net In/Out indicators but I recently added those and will update it in the next couple of days (just mentioned it 'cause I noticed you used those)
