I have played a lot of games over the past 10 or 15 years and this one absolutely sucks. I have played the game many times over and the AI NEVER sets you up in an area of the galaxy to even get a head start and growing. You are always right next door within maybe 15 turns of some asshat civilization or you are in the corner of the galaxy with 1 or two level 15 planets and 17 to 30 turns away from the next possible cluster. You already have the disadvantage of always being the retard humans and not havinging any idea where the F*** anyone else is. The AI cheats out the ass. I have beat the game at Beginner up to Normal. Anything beyond that it is unbelievably predictable in it's attitude. I have been watching this game develop over the years and I am very, disappointed. The only game worse than this one is that joke MOOIII. >:(

YEARS?! LOL . The game has been out since last April. Even with the beta testing and before, I don't think its been in development for years (if thats what you meant).

Yeah that sucks terribly, happens to me a lot too! Remmebr there is a trick, ctrl_n i believe that will generate another map at begining of the game if you dont like where you started! Give it a try!

I admit this game is different from what I expected, but not in the same way as moo3.

However, I must confess that you voiced all of my frustrations with the game, albeit less than eloquently.

I take these as problems to be overcome *by me*, though, not as critical game structure flaws.

That aside, if you are that dissatisfied with the game, how come you aren't using the universal game-buyer mating call to express your displeasure?

IIRC, it goes something like this:

I dunno, even I am not above a jab at moo3 on occasion. The only thing that would ever make me forgive it is if they made a tcp/ip patch for moo2. -I have long ago lost my kali number-

I agree why bother everyone with your negative comments. I find the AI cheats as well. ALl games the AI cheats name one that does not. LOL Moo3 is a piece of junk and should not even be compared with Galciv. I have been playing games since 1979, this is on my top 10 all time best games I ever played. I am looking forward to galciv II. :d The game rocks period! If you like TBS you will love this game. I DOUBT you could win on the harder levels anyways. :D

Bobo feel bad David such rotten player. Bobo only ape and him learn GalCiv. Bobo say if David really play games for 15 years him start at 2 years old. David have to start 2 years old because him sound like silly teenager making big mouth noises. But Bobo also happy for David. Him play for 15 years and never play any of 10,000 games since 1988 that really stinky sucky. Him lucky if GalCiv worst game ever played. Maybe David need to play Warcraft, Starcraft, C and C and any other games easy for kids. Then him be happy. Bobo want David be happy. The first time I heard asshat was from someone using a shared somethingawful password. I always assumed it came from there, or thereabouts, anyway.

Oh and bobo: Are you by any chance the kind of monkey that gets 'kuru'? That being, the disease in which you eat the brains of your dead community members, thereby inheriting the debilitating degenerative brain disorder that killed them, showcasing both viral evolution and your own inability to see cause and effect?

Don't diss starcraft, c&c, and warcraft. They have quite a lot more strategy than you'd think. I cannot count the number of 'come from behind' victories I have had in those games due to superior strategy and planning.

I agree that Starcraft is really, really, really strategically intense. Probably the most strategic video game I've ever seen, with the exception of things like online chess. Certainly much more so than any Civ-style game I've ever seen. I'd say 99% of gamers are completely unaware of how deep it is.

However, let's not get emotional. Bobo is basically right that Starcraft is a good game for kids. The fact that it happens to have amazing strategic depth and complexity is wonderful, but that doesn't change the fact that an eight year old can pick it up and start having fun without spending more than a couple minutes learning the rules.

(Starcraft is a good illustration of the distinction between "depth" and "ease of use" which is lost on some MOO3 fanboys.)

The same goes for Warcraft and C&C, only somewhat less so.
