Zoo's Music Review #2

"Collide" by Howie Day

The dawn is breaking
A light shining through
You're barely waking
And I'm tangled up in you
Yeah

I'm open, you're closed
Where I follow, you'll go
I worry I won't see your face
Light up again

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find
You and I collide

I'm quiet you know
You make a first impression
I've found I'm scared to know I'm always on your mind

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the stars refuse to shine
Out of the back you fall in time
I somehow find
You and I collide

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to ryhme
Out of the doubt that fills your mind
You finally find
You and I collide

You finally find
You and I collide
You finally find
You and I collide

The music is very good...I really like the score in this. The lyrics convey reluctance and kind of a submission. They also express how two people inevitably will collide in life. There are circumstances that just throw them together and they have to decide what's going to go down. "Even the best fall down sometimes" is repeated a few times...it shows that even the proudest person can be humbled at times.

Well, if anyone has any more thoughts, by all means share them.

That's it for song #2....maybe I'll have another eventually....

I don't think it will, either.

I too believe that there can be two people who will just never be compatible. Sometimes, that fact is discovered too late.

It’s a fairly depressing song, every time I hear it I just feel “down”… then you listen to the Killer’s “Mr. Brightside” and it cheers you all up! (It’s on the radio right now…)

They play it on the radio, a lot… and it has gotten to the point every time I hear “Collide” I turn the station. I hate it when radio stations ruin a good song.

I have to say that I agree with Shadow on this one! But all the same, very nice!
