some newbie questions

hi, I'm a totally noob with skinstudio, I just have made some skins with other programs, but skinstudio offers more possibilities.
now my questions:
how do I define sizes of some elements (for example the windowframe and the caption bar)
how do I define translucent parts of an object.
how do I define the position of elements (buttons), dragging in the preview causes problems.
is it possible to save a skin as a msstyle?
thanks in advance

Can not save as msstyle.
For buttons, click button tab, beside explorer tab, select a button, on right Alignment, setting for side and offset.
Defining sizes not used for all items, for windowframe SS knows size as long as Image states correct. Size will be size you make image.
For windowframe would be 8xwhatever 2 Image states, 4 pixel frames, set frame edge margins to stretch or tile the whatever size.
For translucent objects a little more explanation of what you want to do may be needed.
Hope this helps.

oh yes it helps, thank you very much.
translucent objects I want to use as buttons which are located on a textured background but not on a fixed position, so I want them to be half transparent on the edges to make it all a bit softer.
just saw in the colony skin, that this is possible with the tga-format - I'll try work with it.

No problem. When using tga make sure to check Transparent and Translucent if not any part of image that is transparent will show around buttons.

Explorer tree Window Borders, Title Bar Text. Right click on explorer, select customize, check show all available sections click ok. All setting will be in explorer tree.
