Is Drengin.net a good name? Third poll option...

I would have preferred a third option in the poll - I don't think drengin.net is an original name, and it's not confusing or complicated either.

It is memorable, but not in the 'ah yes, that was something' way, rather in the 'yes, I remember' way.

It's not confusing or complicated because it is simple. It's not really original either, as IMHO it feels rather nondescript.

I think it just lacks the 'edge' a network like the drengin.net needs - in essence, it lacks punch. I never liked the name in the first place - even for the drengin in the game. They can be a formidable foe, and the name fails to bring that accross.

The name drengin makes me think of something/someone rather nice, but not too bright, edging on the stupid. I would have preferred a third 'Does not say much to me' or 'lacks punch' poll option - something in between.

All, of course, IMHO...

P.S. what about kilrathi.net :HOT:

I'm glad to see someone out here.
I too doubt that the poll is giving the best advice. "Drengin.net" means something to players of the game; but is that who needs to remember it?
the name MUST be meaningful to someone who doesn't play, so they don't have to try to remember "that really cool web-site with weird name."

The question is simple. Is the name good? Yes/No. You could add shades of No, but it remains a simple Yes/No question that Brad can use to change the name if there are many no's. A 'something in between' wouldn't help him take a decision.
I think the name doesn't provide any information to the casual player, as 'Drengin' is totally unheard of except for a galciv player. It doesn't mean game, or anything. Something like games.stardock.net would be easier to understand in my opinion (note the s in games).

I disagree - a third option would make it easier to understand why the players don't like the name. In the simple Yes/No situation, if people say 'No', you don't know why and what you have to change. By adding at least one shade of no, you can pinpoint the problem a little better. Or, as you stated, change the system altogether :)

I have to agree with AeonOfTime, I would have used the suggested third option.

To me Drengin sound like a model of car that has been long forgotten... :notsure:
