Someone sending viruses

Someone on this forum is sending me a regular supply of viruses.
They are also using my address to send others viruses.

No. My computer is not infected. I guarantee it.

This is the only place I use this e-mail address, so it has to be someone from here.

I wish they would stop.
It will be annoying to have to change this e-mail address.

That's annoying to hear. It is probably something like one of those that attack a address book and send from that. Check those people first. I'm clear, not in an address book, and a virus scanner top of the line and up to date.

If it isn't anyone with you address, the possibities abound. :notsure:

I have an up to date, top of the line virus scanner.My ISP also blocks all viruses.
It has to be someone deliberately sending them.

So you have only reports that virus has been blocked but you haven't the e-mail that is sending you a virus.
That is really annoying.
Could you ISP tell you who is sending you e-mail?

All viruses fake their 'from' address these days. A lot of annoying virus checkers send automatic responses to the innocent people whose addresses were stolen. How could it have got your address? If it's on the internet, it could have been found by an auto search and added to someone's spam list. But I'd look at anyone whose sent or received emails to/from that address. They probably got the virus accidentally, and it's stolen your email address from their inbox, outbox or address book, and it randomly decided to use your address as the 'from'. It doesn't mean that the person with your address is doing it delibarately - they were just careless.

It's not someone from here. An unusually clever virus picked up various Stardock addresses from email correspondance various people's address books, from news postings in news.stardock.com (this is where the one claiming to have come from the 'prospero.stardock.com' domain originate), and from the Google Groups archive.

I know of one virus a few years back that used to parse random pages in the Dèjá News archive for their target addresses too.

Also, just because it's arriving in your mailbox doesn't mean it was targeted. I get spam in a mailbox that was never used until three weeks after the spam started arriving.
