how do you win so fast?

I haven't played in a while. Grad school is rough. I've noticed I've dropped dramatically in the ranks in my absence, and that Ray is no longer on top. I was checking out the top guy, Greldon, and noticed that he often wins multiple games in one day. For example, on 3/21, he won no less than 5 Huge Maso games with a perfect score. How is this even possible? It usually took me about 5 hours to win a medium Maso game. I've never even tried huge, cause I don't got that kind of time.

With the newer versions it is possible to finish  a huge-maso in around 45 minutes. If you bribe the ai's with bc's per 100 turns it keeps them happy and off your back. Then race through the techs until you are stronger than them. Couple of other things and then 'hey presto' game won with 60K score.

Don't worry about Greldon - he's just a man with a mission (which he has now successfully achieved).

I think one of Mindshock's compatriots, Slothrop banged in about 11 60K masos in one day ;)

Basically, it's as Mindshock says - keep tha AIs happy early on, so you can do what you want, when you want, and an Alliance victory will get you 60K on a huge map in Altarian Prophecy V1.49. I'm not as fast as some, but can churn those out in about 90 minutes. To go for a military victory takes a bit longer, but it is possible to get 60K on a large map now in a couple of hours.

Military victory really doesn't take that much longer. If you alpha strike (not terror star alpha strike--that's different) you can finish very quickly.

An alpha strike consists of isolating one race for anhilation. You move all your ships and transports into position, then in one turn BOOM! One fewer race to worry about with no reprecussions (you can even trade with them if you want--just make peace with them and trade away before they disappear LOL)

Yup... Bit of a hole in the AP beta I think. But it's beta so...

May have been due to the short lived suicidal. But that's just a total guess.

Sure can! And 60K for a military victory on a large map. Hell, even a medium gives ~55k :) :)

eh.... its not letting me submit alliance victory games. Ive got one i finished in about 75 minutes on huge, and then a couple smaller ones after that didnt work to see if it was just that 1 game or something else. It appears to be something else, when i try to submit it says:

Error, this game can not be submitted as this feature is still in beta testing.

Is it the latest/newest beta? Prior to the very latest release, I had no problem submitting beta AP games to the Metaverse. Of course, those weren't alliance wins (they were culture and military).

In the very early AP betas, the first one I think, you couldn't submit to the 'verse.
