RapidFire88,

You will need WindowBlinds, IconPackager, Sysmetrix, Bootskin, LogonStudio and Rainlendar to apply all parts of the package.

All the software can be found under the "Software" tab at top of page, with the exception of Rainlendar - which can be found by going to the Rainlendar library and using the link for Rainlendar website.

Some programs are free, the WindowBlinds and IconPackager are shareware - so they have some limitations.

Note - you will need Theme Manager also, if you want to apply the components as a suite.

Unfortunately the Theme managers "Suite" fuction in the free version will not work, you will have to install all the items individually or purchase Object Desktop to use the Suit Version. If you can afford it, I highly reccomend purchasing Object Desktop, you get all those programs Corky mentioned and more!

Have fun!,

If you have not done so already, run Stardock Central and install the WindowBlinds, IconPackager, Theme Manager, and CursorXP programs.

Go to the "Software" tab above and download Bootskin, and LogonStudio.

Then go to Rainlendar library (listed on left side of home page) and download the Rainlendar program.

Install the Bootskin, LogonStudio, and Rainlendar programs.

Reboot the computer.

Go here Link, and download the "Copper Deck II" suite (it is the one with the small green and blue computer icon in the upper right tab of the preview).

This should (though not necessarily) start Theme Manager after download - if it does not start automatically, just start the Theme Manager program (found in the Object Desktop folder in the Start>All Programs menu)after download finishes. In the center list, highlight the "Copper Deck II" listing and click the "Apply" button.

Theme Manager will ask you to verify that you want to apply the suite, just confirm it and Theme Manager will start to extract and apply the suite for you.

You can alternatively download the individual components found at the link above, and apply them using each program (WindowBlinds, IconPackager, etc.), but using Theme Manager is a lot easier to start.

If you have more questions, or if things don't work as described here, you can post here again - as well as use the following two links to read some useful hints for new users.

I hope this helps.

RapidFire88,

The instructions above are for the suite you indicated at the beginning of the thread.

If you want to investigate customizing with Object Desktop - just install and run Stardock Central if you have not already done so.

In the left hand column of Stardock Central window, you will see a number of categories. If you select Object Desktop, you will see all the programs that are officially part of that suite of programs. This suite includes WindowBlinds (to skin the "Window parts including toolbars, buttons, taskpanes, and often progress animations), IconPackager (to change the look of your system icons), DesktopX (which allows you to load or create objects on your desktop, and save the collection as a theme), Skinstudio and Icon Developer (which are programs used to combine graphic images into a WindowBlind or Icon Package) - just to name a few.

You also get Theme Manager, which is a program that acts as a coordinator for all the parts of a suite or theme - meaning that it reads a file which has all the parts (WindowBlind, IconPackage, CursorXP Package, Wallpaper, etc.) and allows you to select the complete package and apply in a few clicks - Theme Manager handles the rest.

In Stardock Central - if you select the "Misc" category, you will see the CursorXP and another great program named ObjectDock.

To download any of these, if you have not done so, just select the software in the right window list and use the install button to install.

After installing the programs, just go to the home page above, and select a library from the left-hand list and browse until you see something you like. Download the skin, and if the program starts automatically after download - use the program dialog box to apply the skin.

If the program does not start after download, just start the program that is correct for the application of skin and apply the skin (for instance, if you are in the WindowBlinds library and download a WindowBlind skin - you would use WindowBlinds to apply the skin).

Please use the lower two links in my comment above, as well as some great articles by Cordelia, for new users found here Link

This should get you started - one note I would mention is that you may want to hold off on the Bootskin stuff until you try the Object Desktop stuff out. Your computer BIOS may or may not have an issue with that program, and I personally feel it would be better to get some of the basic Object Desktop customizing under your belt before trying that one. Please don't get me wrong, there is nothing bad about the Bootskin program, but I am thinking you might enjoy some of the basics to start.

If you have an issue with booting to the Welcome screen and you were fine before that session - remember you can always turn off the machine with the power button, then start the machine again and start hitting "F8" continuously until you get a screen with all the boot options. Use your arrow keys to select "Last Known Good Configuration" then hit "Enter" - this will boot to the last time you successfully logged on.

Okay, enough of the technical stuff - go ahead and install some programs, download some goodies, and use the links to get some very helpful starter information.

Peace.

Hmmm..It may not be a bad idea to create a restore point as well, before using bootskin..Last known good configuration is great but not a 100% dependable..

Go to Start button > All Programs > Accessories > System Tool > System Restore

Choose "Create a Restore Point" name it whatever you like and save

Just an little addition to Corky's *Solid advice,

For the sysmetrix:

Download the file to "My Documents", you should now have a "CopperDeck_II.zip" file.

Right-click the "CopperDeck_II.zip" file > select "Extract All..." > click "Next" two times, then click "Finish".

You should now see a CopperDeck_II folder. Open this folder and copy the "HOOG0553" font file to "C:\Windows\Font" folder (where "C" is the letter drive).

Now move back once so you see the "CopperDeck_II" folder again, and copy it to the C:\Program Files\Sysmetrix\Skins" folder (if no "Skins" folder, then to the "Themes" folder), again where "C" is the letter drive.

Start Sysmetrix, right click whatever Sysmetrix loads up, and select Sysmerix Configuration. You should now see the CopperDeck II skin in the center skin list - just select it, then select load.

That should do it.
