I-League

I was playing last night and pretty much had the entire galaxy under my thumb when for no apparent reason the I-League declared war on me.

That was one of the most humiliating things I've ever experienced; they trashed all my starbases and took out my freighters before I even had a chance to react and completely wrecked my economy and morale.

I felt stupid afterwards because I'd noticed a lot of their corvettes hanging around, but I hadn't suspected anything. I've *never* been attacked by a minor before, I didn't even know they did that.

Is that normal behavior? They said something about ridding the galaxy of evil (though I was still neutral, so I don't why they didn't go after the Drengin or the Yor first...)

The I-League are a bunch of goodie goodies, and they will declare war on you if they think they can win. Same with the fundimentalists and the other event-created minors, at least in my experience.

The I leugue are a neutral civ, not a good civ. Unlike most minors they are rather expansionist. That they chose to attack a fellow nuetral civ is mysterious but I'd imagine it might be a good idea to trade with them and try to keep them on good terms. I've had them stab me in the back before, dragging me into war with one of my own allies and trading partners the torians. I squashed them eventually but I got so bored of that game I resigned shortly afterwards. Remember the I leugue plan to control the entire universe and they will spread their political ideals by any means war, destabilization or diplomacy.

i have played 7 games and never had the I-league come up, maybe it is because i don't use destabilization.

Destab. doesn't realy matter.
I do get them in all my games, i like them till they come from my worlds ;)

I believe the I-League always shows up on Huge and Gigantic maps. I think I've seen it only once on a smaller map.

On the small maps, I only get Cari and Alex, and those are constants. On bigger maps, you can always add the I-League and Scotty to that list.

I get the I-League on about 50% of the small maps I play. In 1.19 their influence color is Orange - so bright it obscures the star systems in the sector

I was playing on a large map. Could the Torian's have put them up to it, maybe? Somebody was definitely destabilizing me, though I'm not sure who.

Anyway, I've pretty much given up on that game as hopeless and started a new one, and now I'm being terrorized by at least three space sharks who are destroying my ships as fast as I can build them; I lost three transports which kind of ruined my plans for an early rush on the Arceans.

I don't know, I finally join the site and start trying for some of those nifty little icons and now I seem to be having the worst luck :D
