AP question: Is showing of starbases even when that area is unexplored a bug or new with AP?

I am seeing the behavior. I can see any alien planet and starbase whether I have explored that part of the map or not. I just have to have contact with the race it seems. I am just wondering if that is a bug?

At this point in time, it's a feature. Seriously. You'll only see starbases on resources, too, so you know what starbases are worth killing. :HOT:

You know, I was mistaken above. The starbases show up whether you have had contact with the race or not.

I hope this is a bug. You can't see other races' planets if they are unexplored, why should you be able to see their starbases?

Ummm, it's half bug, half feature.  It's only supposed to show explored resource starbases.

Really, you should only get to know that there's a resource there. I don't see why you get to know who currently owns the resouce.

I think that once you can explore a part of space, you should be able to
1. Retain the location of a resource
2. Keep it in sight and know who owns it.

Non Terror Star, Starbases don't move - so I don't think it would be hard for a galactic civilization to keep track of a fixed point in space, regardless of who owns it..
