God created the cat... to allow human to caress the lion.

My friends Y. told me this story about R., a Spanish guy that they are currently accommodating  at the house of felicity (since Y. and E. have been living in it, guests have been moving in and moving out almost constantly). R. had been doing a PhD and  is due to pass its final viva in two weeks. R. came in the  department and tell to E.:

"I was at the house on the coach and the cat came close to me, so I started caressing it. And suddenly, it  started to make some strange noise and I though he was about to die. Do you think it can be serious?"

R., 27 and future PhD in science, is the only person  I have ever met that didn't know that cat purrs...

Yeah, the guy was allergic to cat but even purring cats are around in book, movie, tv,...
I'm not throwing any stone at him. I was, we were very surprised.

My mother in law thought her cat had a really bad cold when she pet it. He had this terrible 'congestion'. It was the cat purring. I don't know how many cat's had adopted her before this one. There are pepole out there...
