Slow switching betwen desktops with SVD2

Folks, just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this with BandVWM1.95b[b].003? I have 8 virtual desktops configured with no background bitmaps (solid colour only), running in mode 1, and it can consistantly take over 3 seconds to switch between desktops (long enough to be a pain in other words).

Laptop, XP +SP2, 1.8GHz Centrino, 2MB cache, 1GB RAM, ATI Radeon 9700 graphics.

Too early in the developement cycle?

Any chance you are running the Microsoft Anti Spywaretool?

I only run 3 VDs but with different wallpapers and it's snappy!

It will even cycle as fast as the keyboard autorepeat when pressing Alt+Left or Alt+Right.

Bingo! Thanks Mr bussie. I've got to admit I didn't know how to search the forum archives (I assume you can?) so didn't catch any previous discussion (I've used Object Desktop from the early OS/2 days but have only just got a laptop powerful enough to run WB, etc along with all my other essential stuff.)

The BandVWM beta is more useful to me than the MS AntiSypware beta so real-time spyware detection can be disabled until the compatibility issues are sorted (which may be awhile if the MS beta target shifts
