wallpaper resolution

i'm new to this wincustom stuff and it's great. but every time i download a wallpaper, the image is blurred. i have tried adjusting the resoultion on my monitor, but the image still isn't clear. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you using a download accelerator from the likes of Earthlink or NetZero? If so, you need to turn it off when you download *jpg files because the software at their server level recompresses this type of image to a much smaller file and therefore poorer quality image. Also sometimes using let say an 800x600 resolution wallpaper on a 1280x1024 or higher resolution desktop can cause this some loss as Windows stretches it.
