We're Night Owls

So at 8:30pm we finally got out of our jammies, got dressed, and went for a walk to the commissary. Michael got all bundled up in his super cute columbia ski bib & coat, hopped in his stroller, and away we went. John too. He's off work for a couple days. Woo-hoo! Then when the commissary closed we were on our way home, and I said, "I don't want to go home. Let's go to the shoppette." It's open all the time. So on the way there it was uphill and the forest is off to the left of the sidewalk. Michael & I tumbled down into the forest and played in the super deep leaves. Ten minutes of that, and we continued on. He opted to walk most of the way. Howled if we tried to carry him, howled if we tried to put him in the stroller. Then when he was pooped he submitted to being strollered. I went off-roading then. Ran up a foresty path, dodged some tree roots, then back onto the path leading to the shoppette. I'd been eating Chips Ahoy Chunky Cookies all day, so I had some serious energy to unleash. Michael's attention was grabbed by the valentine's display at the shoppette right when we walked in. He wanted to hold a cuddly lion doll. I rarely say no to anything he wants. I know that's not good, but oh well. Handed him the lion. He loved it. Hugged it and cuddled it all through his stroller ride through the store. I talked John into buying us that great game Operation, and then I wanted Perfection, and a pack of puzzles for Michael. John stood in line and Michael & I cruised around the store so he wouldn't get fussy. I tried to get him to put the lion back, but he didn't want to let go of it. When John was done paying, we tried to put the lion back again, but I didn't want to upset the poor boy. So out we walked. Gasp! I felt kinda bad, but I pretended not to notice our "mistake." That little plush thing was labeled for $10! Sheesh. We're so wicked.
