My Superbowl Thoughts

I enjoyed the game. I thought both sides played fairly well and don't think it was nearly as one-sided in favor of the Patriots that many people predicted. Going into the game, I was torn with feelings of apathy. While I naturally root against any dynasty-type teams and have no love for the Boston area, really, I also couldn't care less about the Eagles.
While it's difficult to argue with the stats of 30/51 for 350+ yards, I just got the feeling that Donavan McNabb was off his game yesterday. Those stats are impressive, especially against the Pats stingy defense, but the three interceptions (that counted) were also very telling of his performance. I heard someone say this morning that if Owens had only been healthy, the Eagles would have won for sure. Now, I don't doubt that he was less then 100%. Maybe health-wise he was 100%, but he hadn't played tackle football in over 5 weeks (was it 6 weeks?). So, like I said, he probably was not 100%, but the guy still had 9 catches for over 100 yards. What more do you really think he could have done? Honestly?
The Patriots, on the other hand, played their game as they have for years - as a team. They had some tough going offensively to start, but their defense picked them up. Once they started to give the ball to Dillon, the offense started to open up and Tom Brady was able to move the team down field. I don't think that he mirrored his two prior MVP performances, but he did seem to remain unshaken as the team leader. Rodney Harrison did an excellent job of answering the criticism/challenges the Pats defense, and himself personnally, received from members *cough*FreddyonecatchMitchel*cough* of the Eagles.
All in all, it was a good game between two very good teams. The only thing lacking was that I watched it at home by myself. I had a couple of invites but for various reasons and difficulties, I ended up not going anywhere. Would have made the commercials even better if I'd seen them in a group. HAHA!
