MP3 player question

Hi. It says in the patch notes that you can load your own MP3's in for background music. Can someone tell me how please?

This is how I did it, I don't know if this is the "official" way or not tho. If there's a playlist directory in the galciv folder you just put them in there. If there isn't, you create one. In game you go to the options menu and press "Allow Playlist"(something like that, I don't remember exactly, you should be able to see it). Once in the playlist menu(a button should appear on the options menu) set your playlist directory to playlist and it should work.

Also, if you end up bein' evil, join us at the Evil Empire ;) .

Thanks for the info - will give it a go.

As for being evil, I have only had a couple of games and it seems there are big bonuses to being evil - who wants an Alliance victory with the A.I. anyway? ;)

Actually all you need to do is save a Winamp playlist (.m3u format) into that directory. Then you'll be able to pick from the playlists you saved there once you're in the game.

Also note that, in addition to MP3s, WMA files seem to work. OGGs do not though, at least for me. So be careful what sort of files you put in the playlist, or some of your songs may just not play.

Also make sure the m3u file contains the full path to your music files. I think Winamp puts in the relative path from Winamp to the music files. You might have to edit the file with Notepad (or if you're smart like me, gvim LOL) depending on your system.
