Trade route count

Did a search but don't see any answer to this question:

I'm a hundred turns or more into my current game and have forgotten how many techs I've researched that add trade routes. Is there any way to know how many trade routes I can set up without going manually through the tech archives to count them up? Thanks.

Go to domestic screen (F4) then Trade tab. You will see the list of trade routes already set up. You can also see the remaining routes available to you (blank slots).

Thanks Ray but I may not have phrased the question well. The Trade tab currently shows that I have three trade routes in use and the rest of the area is blank. I can click on the blank lines to count that there are seven remaining. What it does not show me is that I could have one more trade route in operation now at my current tech level because I have researched two routes in addition to the two I started with. IOW I am currently using three out of a possible four routes. What I was hoping for was a way to see that four is my current limit without having to count them manually in the archived techs window. Perhaps in this case if the fourth line in the Trade tab said something like "Unused trade route" then I'd know I could build another freighter and use it now.

It's not a big deal. It didn't take me that long to manually go through the archived techs. I just wondered if there was an easier way to see the difference between routes in use and routes researched without doing that.

I believe it does show that. 10 routes is the hardcoded max in any game but if you have obtained a max of 4 routes through research and used only 3, it should show up as 3 routes with the route details but route 4 as blank. I can't access the game now but IIRC the number 4 should be showing but the rest of the details blank, that would mean you have one more available slot for use.

Something like this:

1. Planet1 xbcs
2. Planet2 xbcs
3. Planet3 xbcs
4.
blank
blank
blank
blank
blank
blank

Yes Ray you're clear and thanks for taking the time to reply but that is not what I see. There is no 4. showing. Just three routes and 7 blanks.

Ok, I'm home now so it's easier for me to check.

We only start with one trade route. With Trade and Advanced Trade, the total available goes up to 3.

Did you pick Trade Route +1 as your racial pick?
