Expansion Pack

Hi, I've just bought this game and I'd like to get the expansion pack for it. Firstly, will I need to download the latest patch?
Also, will I need to download Stardock Central (and are there any nasty surprises involved. I've heard they can use it to gain access to your harddrive and stuff).

As for it acessing your hard drive you really shouldn't listen to every rumor you hear. And yes for now you need to get Stardock Central to get it, though I'm pretty eventually they will put it on the site.

If you just got the game, then the expansion is included in the latest patch (given that you have no patches yet!).

Are 1.05 games playable under the expansion pack? Or should I finish my current game first.
