The Ai will keep you enjoying the game if this is the sort of game you enjoy. There are no Major holes in it, though some people over time have found ways to exploit it. Most of these exploits gets closed by updates over time and none of them are very major. The harder levels are indeed that with the AI indeed playing smarter.

I find the game very enjoyable and play it a lot, even now months after release.

I think pretty much everyone here would recommend buying it. GalCiv didn't have the developmental budget as MoO3 which limits the graphics and eye candy, but they put together a great game and code. Almost as important is that it is an evolving game with constant support and feedback from the design team. Yesterday they held a live chat to let customers know where things were going as well as take questions and suggestions. Buy the game and join the rankings. We need everyone available to gang tackle Ray the Wanderer at the top. :D

Yea ... the AI is the best there is in this Genra (SP?)
I played my first 1.1 game last night and noticed even more "little things" for the more serious.

Play on any level from "I dare you to lose" to well ... the last level describes itself.

I have only played like an hour yesterday but I already noticed that these rushes won't work anymore like they did in 1.05... This is for "Intelligent" Level, the highest level where the AI gets no Boni.

@Ray: Wow, impressive! Is there a guide or sth. like that that explains how to win Huge Maso games with that regularity?

No guide, AIL.ST but I've often talked about my strats in the Strat Forum or the Fellowship empire thread. What I'm hoping to do is to talk about the game (and strats) over at Joeuser.com on my blog page.

Drew: Just make sure you install StarDock Central and use it to update you game before playing. The "out of the box" version is light years old. :p

Stardock Central allows you to manage all of your Stardock programs and applications, without having to search the internet for updates and so forth. Granted, most people on this forum only need it for GalCiv. It knows what your current versions are and only displays the "update" button when you really need it. It takes a little getting used to, because its different than anything else out there, but once you catch on it's a breeze. If you have any questions just post here and you will get lots of help. Happy gaming! :HOT:

The AI gets pretty good once you kick it up to Intelligent level. I'm sure you'll be impressed.
