"Because I knew you'd react like this"

I'm having trouble finding the word to describe this. Here's an example, say someone comes round to my house and steals something to sell and make some money, cause he needs it, and then I find out and ask why he did it, to which he replies, "I didn't tell you because I knew you'd react like this!" This is like avoiding it and trying to make it look like I'm the bad one.

Does anybody know what the word is to describe this? Please!
