Goat Wrestling 101

OK, So after class today I am walking across campus and see that there is a petting zoo on the "great" lawn (which is not so great if you ask me). The petting zoo was there to help raise funds for some project that sends animals over to 3rd world countires to help them create better agriculture or teach them how to raise livestock or something. Anyway, they have this little fence set up with various types of goats and even a couple sheep inside, pretty much harmless animals. Well me and a few others were standing around "chewing the cud" so to say..(pun intended)... and all of a sudden a goat decides to jump the fence and head towards me. Has this ever happened to you? I doubt it... A million things crossed my mind... first I thought "when animals attack episode XXXII" but quickly i remembered that "hey, its just a goat". So i wresteled the little bastard to the ground, grabbed a shoelace from my pocket and hogtied the goat, texas style, then stood up, spit out my copenhagen, smiled and tipped my hat to the crowd. ok..... I am lying, but that would have been so cool. Basically, I just grabbed the goat and the farmer lady in charge put the goat back in the pen, but i feel it was just as heroic. Nobody wants to see an "escaped goat". he he get it?!

ok... that was my sorry attempt at being funny.... have a good weekend everyone.

Actually, I have been chased by a goat. And, depending on the size of said goat, they could really plow you over. However, goats are usually pretty friendly.

Wow, I kinda miss that not-so-great Great Lawn...lol Excellent job on saving countless CNU students from probably being attacked by the killa goat :) Leave it to Trible to suggest farm animals being brought to Newport News> I guess the main concern should be keeping them away from the chinese restaurants- goats, dogs, same thing right?

You failed to rant about the utter stupidity of the "Heifer Project" in the first place. If these people cannot produce enough food to sustain themselves how will they be expected to care for goats, cows, chickens, etc. once this HEROIC fund sends them a gazillion animals? Where are they going to find the food to keep the animals alive if the people cannot even feed themselves? These animals are not found in third world countries because they were not meant to live there. Just a thought and a little rant of my own... :) By the way Dan...thanks for taking us to lunch today!
