This game is one of my last reasons for keeping XP around. Has anyone been able to get this running under linux. Even a longer shot, will there ever be linux binaries???

Since they haven't made the development money for the game back yet I doubt at this time they are going to develop the game for other operating systems. Stardock never did reply to the thread asking for a Mac version that I noticed.

GalCiv actually somewhat works under WineX now, in case anyone is interested in trying it out. There are some issues remaining, but I expect that TransGaming (the developer of WineX) will look into them.

We would have to re-write all the code that uses DirectX in order to make Gal Civ run without an emulator on a Mac or Linux. The amount of resources that would take is currently more than we could hope to gain, and it would at least double the support issues.
