What Paint Program

Just curious as to what everyone uses as their paint program. I use Paint Shop Pro 9, I know that sbgFX uses Photoshop (I think they pay him to use it ) but what do the rest of you use?

and if any one has used multiple programs, what is the advantage of one over the other? Why do some cost $100 and some cost $700?

Having used both, Photoshop's learning curve may [or may not] be steeper. It certainly was for me haha.. If money's no object, I'd go with photoshop, all the way. If you want lots of bang for your buck, with some cool graphics capabilities, go with PSP9.

As for differences, I'm writing a lenghtly article about both, comparrisons of two "like" images [made in their respective apps] as well as comparrison charts, etc. It won't be done for a while, tho heh..

psp 8(can't stand 9 it has toooooo many bugs for me), photoshop 7,corel draw 12.In my opinion if you want something done quick--psp, slow--photoshop, to a crawl--corel draw.Buttons and bubbles look alot cleaner in photoshop after they are complete than they do in psp(in my opinion)as an example. As far as price, if you know anybody in a community college, get them to get it at their college store(that's what I do)it's used and it don't cost so much.

For sure Photoshop, all the way

Photoshop ... mainly because I started using it in college and used it at every job I've had since. I've never really tried PSP or Corel Draw.

For coding: ObjectEdit and Notepad.

Photoshop. Mainly because I use it at work all the time.

It doesn't really matter what you use, as long as it gets the job done.

I got PSP8, just bought PSP9....
And OpenOffice's Draw tool for vectors...

PSP9/8's vector tools lack certain VERY basic stuff (union, subtract, intersect) and those guys at Corel/Jasc don't seem interested in adding the features.

Ok, let me see if I can expand this thread, instead of starting another in order to get more info. Do most of you write text or are you drawing and filling ...applying tools available, or both. I don't have a clue about writing text (maybe evident). Where could one learn and is it necessary/recommended?

PhotoShop. After all it is the standard program of the industry (also the one I used at school)
Corel Draw is very efficient too but I have not used it in a while.
I dont know about writing text with a graphic program, but if you reffer to coding, it is only implemented on advance skinning or adding features to a skin if the skinning program doesnt have them, on either case you dont need a graphic program for that. You can easily do it on notepad.
