Can we have a new forum?

A few different forums would be nice. Stategy, Technical difficulties, Bug Reports etc. LOL

First, my official position as already stated in the Galactic Council: I am all for an empire forum. Would be happy to have one, happy to help one. Now the realities of the Galciv forum life. Even knocking the empiring types totally off the forum into a realm of their own would still leave the typical user looking for a topic relating to gameplay or a technical issue lost in space with a deficient search engine and still wading through page after page of posts unless you could remember who started the topic or a distinct enough search phrase for the title. So, getting rid of the empiring types is not such a great answer. Getting a better organized board with a real search engine is a much better long term solution.

As for technical difficulties and bug reports, there are several "stickied" threads in various places. I'm not really against expanding the forums, fellas. In fact, I would also like to see an expansion. And although I've already gotten an answer, I'll let the peeps in charge speak for themselves.

SDC seems to do a pretty good job at keeping things 'organized'. In fact, I would think that SDC should be a optional installation along with GalCiv. For me at least, it really does make a big difference in keeping things in the fourm organized, and *clean*.

Of course Yog, you could always just join an empire. Then empire threads would no longer seem "useless" to you.

Also, a lot of expert players post very useful information in the empire threads (granted, buried along with a lot of other content). Also, a lot of threads do not stay with the original topic, so useful information that you might want is buried under a topic you normally wouldn't care about.

My point is that the type of human interaction that these forums provide is not a terribly efficient mannor of cataloging information, just by its very nature. I appriciate what you are getting at in your request, but I think that if it weren't empire threads getting in your way, it would be something else.

Get her! And I actually thought that Yog Sloth was already in The Jedi Republic! Wasn't Yog one of the extras in the bar scene of the second movie?
