Xyberstryke: have you installed CursorXP? https://www.stardock.com/products/cursorxp/

Once you have installed it (and rebooted your computer) you can just double-click on the downloaded file and it will apply the cursor. Alternatively you can go into your Mouse options > CursorXP, and choose a cursor from the dropdown menu and hit "apply"

ZROC: DigitalCHET has written an excellent tutorial about how to make a Bootskin, you can get it here: http://www.skinning.net/viewtopic.php?t=391

Just a fast question...do you have cursor XP? If not you can buy it at Stardock. its a great program. If you do have it, click on your mouse option, you then click it on Cursor XP, right under you will see a themes option, you open the themes option, select the cursor you want and right at the bottom you will see a tab that say apply. You apply it and voila. hope this helped.

hosstyle: to go back to your original logon run logonstudio (you should have a shortcut to this program somewhere in your Startmenu) and click on the button on the bottom that says "restore Default XP logon".

Which logons can't you find? The ones you just downloaded or the ones you have already installed?

Do a search for the Folder "LogonStudio" (I can't remember where it installs by default). In there you should find all the logons you installed, each in its folder. To apply them run logonstudio and choose the logons from the list on the left side and click on "apply".

I used to be able to download skins and they would automatically install into the windowblinds program. I've tried to install the LOTR Gondor 2257 skin 3 times, it will download, but will not install into windowblinds. HELP HELP HELP please. Am I doing something wrong or does the windows SP2 have something to do with it? I was just wondering about the sp2 because it seems all my problems started affter I got the service pack. Thanks for any help.--Laura

You were correct there. After upgrading to SP2 Windows seems to sometimes forget the correct extensions, and downloads everything as a .zip file. Don't worry, in time Windows will correct itself but meanwhile you can do the following:

1) Open your WindowsExplorer click on Tools > Folder Options > View > and untick "hide extensions for known file types"

2) Download your Windowblinds into a folder of your Choice and remember where you downloaded the WB to!

3) Go into your Download folder using WindowsExplorer and look for your downloaded WB (e.g LOTRGondor.zip or similar).

4) Right-click onto this file and click on 'Rename', and change the three letters after the full-stop (zip) to wba

5) Click on 'ok' when the system asks you whether you are sure that you want to change it.

6) Double-Click on this new file (you might have noticed that the icon for this file has changed now), and it will install itself as usual.

Ok, my window skins ARE downloading in the wba format. I downloaded it into a seperate folder as suggested and when I click on the folder to open or install it nothing happens. I've tried right clicking and then selecting "open with" and then selecting window blinds and still I can't get the dang thing to install. I've even tried moving the folder from my documents to the windowblinds program folder and still nothing. Funny thing I was just messing and changed the extension on the skin folder to .zip and THEN I could extract the files, but I can't figure out how to get them to install. Could I have a corrupt file somewhere or am I just doing something wrong? I'm just opening the file from where I downloaded it to, that's correct, right? I made a special folder in "my documents" just for the skins. Maybe it's just me....someone have any more suggestions???? Thanks in advance.

I am not sure what you mean here, after you downloaded them into your MyDocuments\skins folder do you double-click on the wba-files? Clicking on the folder itself won't do anything.

If you have extraced the files after changing the extension to zip (wich is the most complicated way to do a blinds installation), you can just move this folder to your Windoblinds directory. Note that moving the folder with your wba-files in it won't do anything either, the files need to be extracted.

The strange thing is that your "open-with Windoblinds" method should have worked for the wba files. Keep me updated.

Hi i,m not realy that good at the pc. but i downloaded benchwarmer!!! i realy like that one.
but i dont know how to get the bar at the top of the screen. please help
Reply #65 Top
Harass: The Bar on top of the 'Benchwarmer' screenshot is a sysmetrix skin, which you can download here; https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=1786&LibID=28&comments=1

Sysmetrix is free program, which is available here: http://www.xymantix.com/sysmetrix/download.html

Make sure you install the program before you try and apply the skin.

-And, Jafo? Is there a way for me to not have the 'Citizen' in my nick but just 'InkyPixels' as my nick? I know you're lurking in there some place, oh grand and powerful one!
To create your own post just go to the Forums page and click on 'Submit new post' on the top left corner (under 'Forum options') of this page.

And I am not Jafo, but I think the feature to choose your own "pre-nick" (or drop it entirely) has not been implemented on the new page yet. I am sure it will turn up though sooner or later.

...but Jafo might know more about this...
