I got Windows Blinds 4.4 and something's not right.......

I remember in the previous version of WB I had you could select your skins from the desktop properties > Appearnce but now you can only choose a skin from the windows blinds window itself, why is that, is there any way to set it as it used to be?

Sounds like you may need to uninstall as something has gone awry. You should still be able to select skins from the Display Properties-?Appearance tab just like before. Set your style to the default XP, uninstall WB, reboot and then re-install. Are you by chance using StyleXP? Not sure that makes any difference though because I know there are probably several people here using both without any problems.

Good Luck!

Yeah, it should be there just fine. Either something's blocking it or your install has messed up. Uninstalling and reinstalling after a reboot may be a best approach (move your skin directories out first), although if you can run: regsvr32 "c:\program files\stardock\object desktop\windowblinds\wbui.dll" in start/run, it may be worth trying that.

No good, I uninstalled WindowsBlinds, even removed the tehems and everything, restarted my comp, insalled it again, restart and it's even worse now, some of the themes won't work.

Here's something I noticed, instead of setting the themes to XP Style is uses the classic windows style and ads the skin over it, kinda like the old versions for Windows 98 and ME.

Thats how you apply skins.

What version of windowblinds are you using?
Are you uninstalling and reinstalling using stardock central?

Lynx, I had a similar problem, though it only happened on other user accounts on my PC, here is the fix I got from Stardock support:

Start / Run / Cmd.exe
cd "\program files\stardock\object desktop\windowblinds"
cacls.exe . /e /t /g users:f

See if that works for you.
