Question about windowsblinds feature?

Well the traditional congrats on getting WB. Now for the rest, you will need additional programs to run the objects seen in some of the screenshots. Check out the Library to the left. Clocks and calendars are probably most populated in the DesktopX variants. Rainlendar and also Sysmetrix and Object Dock. Each Library has a link at the top that will guide you to where the programs can be found.

rainlendar is a free program too, so you wouldn't have to purchase more to add that.
I think sysmetrix is still a free program too or shareware
desktopx you'd probably have to purchase , but if you choose to purchase it, your better bet is to purchase the whole object desktop program, which gives you a ton of great programs within the suite.
oh and congratulations on your first step toward being a skinning junkie!! you'll find it's harder and harder to walk away from a new skin, and you download way too many per day ... eventually you won't be able to turn on your puter without wanting to check for new skins!!! ... we're your support group, we're all in the same boat!

oh ya, and because you've purchased one part of the object desktop suite, you'd get a discount on purchasing the whole.

Well, if you JUST purchased Windowblinds and want to buy the whole suite instead, they will credit your WB purchase towards your Object Desktop purchase. Just contact sales @ stardock.com

I wasn't sure, but after last night I spent at least two hours looking at and downloading windowsblinds. It was pretty damn addicting. I was surprised at how cool and creative the themes were. Really impressed me and well worth what I paid IMO.

I think I will check out the other feature before I buy, you say that Rainlender and Sysmetrix are free to check out? I hope they are as easy to use as WindowBlinds cause the ease of use is what prompted me to purchase it. VERY nice programs, very nice site here.

Ok, to be a bit more specific.

There is a WindowBlind theme called "Shades of Blue" by Z71 that has a really neat clander/clock and CPU/memory thing in the right hand corner.

What program do I need to get to have something cool like that?

Yes, DryPeguin. You have the Windowblinds skin for Windowblinds, now if you want the clock/meters on your desktop you need to install the Sysmetrix program AND the Shades of Blue Sysmetrix skin.

Oh and there is no calendar on that skin. Only a clock, some meters, music

Welcome to the time consuming world of OS customization DryPenguin! I am a relative newbie myself so I still find myself spending hours looking for the next best skin.

And definately check out the things in the full Object Desktop subscription. I think it is more than worth it. Desktop X has some amazingly cool things for it. Even IconX is great for making your icons look cool. And Iconpackager is amazing. Well worth it.

It is definitely worth getting Object Desktop. I'm new to OD and WC and all and I've been spending my time looking at and downloading themes, suites, skins, objects, widgets, etc., etc., etc. instead of looking for a J.O.B.

I'm most certainly addicted now.
