A REAL PROBLEM HERE, PLZ HELP ME

I have a big real prob here with my power supply. I run on a Athlon XP 3200+, win xp home. it's good stuff as you can see. But, i have 2 cooling led fans, and i think that the work correctly. My prob is that my power supply is very hot very fastly ... and i don't know how if it's dangerous for my motherboard and the rest... My power supply is a 450 watt., so help me plz, thx.

Also, if you can tell me the right way to put my cooling fans. Like, i set my 2 cooling fans in the side of the sticker appear outside. Tell me if it's okay.

Sorry, I have no idea. But CPU's do get REAL hot nowadays with the speed they cycle at.  I know that I cannot use my laptop on my lap when I'm wearing only short, my thighs start burning after not too long...

http://www.jscustompcs.com/power_supply/ This will give you an idea of whether your running a large enough PSU. You'd be surprised how fast you can eat up available power from your power supply.

The idea on fans is flow-through, air should be running through your case, front and side to back to bring in cool air and push out hot air. Also inside your case, position of cables and add-on cards can interfere with flow-through.

ok any fans at the back or top should be blowing out .. fans in the front should be blowing in..power sources do tend to get hot .. specially if all the fans are drawing out ..the fans in the power supplys sometimes cant match the draw power of the rest of the fans .. so it can over heat (the other fans can cancel out the power supplys fans draw ) .. when the pc is running you should feel air flowing out of the back of the power suply .. ..also check to make sure intakes and exhaust areas are clean and free of debris .....now if you have fans at the back and none in front its ok.

#1 - Who manufactured the PSU? (if you don't know, I need the rail figures [or the Manufacturer's name and model number] written on the side of the Power Unit)

#2 - What does the computer do when your PSU gets "hot" ?

#3 - If you look on the side of your fans you will find an arrow pointing in the direction of the fan air flow. One should be mounted in the lower front drawing air in and one should be mounted high in the back drawing air out.

paxx: Regarding your hot laptop burning your legs - mine has the same problem. Then about a year ago I read about this really cool laptop desk that you can use on your lap or convert it to a raised platform on your desk. It's made all the difference in the world.

ok, my fans is correctly installed. For you, Yrag, my computer come from Systemax, a good one (i suppose). So, when my power suplly goes to be hot, i don`t receive any message, any warnings, anything yet. And my cpu is not more slower. Maybe it`s normal ... because my processor is powerfull, maybe. Also, i use your link Essencay, and i only use approx. 265 watts on 450 ... Strange or normal ? for a Athlon XP 3200+... (Barton, i suppose)
Or, maybe i should change the power supply for another one ... (more powerfull or less?) Because i`m planing to put a lots of neon and led lights on.

Tell me also a very good way to "build" my own pc case's for more performance, not too big (like the standard mid-tower cases) and very cooling inside Thanks.

You probably need a good motherboard and system temperature monitor. It is important to get a good power supply, not a cheap one. A cheap one could short out your motherboard. This is the most important thing, I believe. The trouble comes when your voltage regulation and motherboard temperature start to fluctuate. If the voltage on your motherboard starts to fluctuate too much, this could be the sign of a bad power supply. There are limits and my intel motherboard came with an active system monitor which lists five power supply voltage monitors, and four temperature monitors. If the (Power)levels go into red, even occassionally, this could be the sign of a bad power supply.

I have five neon fans on my system and therefore I got a small fan regulator and controller that fits into the 3.5" floppy drive. There was actually a option to buy a led light bar with a fan controller, but I didn't want to become too gaudy. My power supply fan is neon lighted. I have one fan in the front blowing over my hard drives, two on the side blowing over my motherboard, one in the back blowing over my AGP card, and my power supply fan is sucking everthing out. These cases look really nice and they come in clear, black crystal, and many other colors. But, I like the MGE manufacturer for price and color options best.(My case cost about $79US) The problem is that once you start modding you just never stop. Now, I have to get all black optical drives, black Audigy 2 breakout box, black 3.5" drive, and rounded color cables. Then I want a black 19" LCD monitor to go with my Logitech Wireless setup too. Those LCD monitors are fricken expensive.
