Question about Windowblinds

First off I'm very offended that I'm made to download a damn program just to sign up for the message boards. I'm going to uninstall the Stardock program as soon as I've posted because I bet it's spyware and is an outrage.

Second I have a question about Windowblinds. Does it run in the background all the time or just when I change skins?

Stardock is very much against spyware, but please tell me what program you were "forced" to download to post on the messagebaord. You can use the MB with any browser.

WindowBlinds runs in the background as long as you're using a skin, but keep in mind that it also unloads the WindowsXP skinning engine, so you are not running both at the same time.

As for signing up for the message board, you're not required to buy anything. The only time you might need to make any purchase is after you've exceeded the free 50MB download limit. Even then, you can still post on the board, you just can't download anything else.

As for spyware, like Koasati said, Stardock programs DEFINATELY DO NOT contain any. Stardock is a very reputable company, a Microsoft parter, and WindowBlinds itself is even included in Microsoft's Windows Catalog.

First things first. No spyware at all. Don't assume that just because you got some from another place.

It runs in the background, but uses very little memory. Mine is currently on 668 kb. If you unload XP's theme service you'll actually be using less memory than if you were just running the XP theme service.

I am eager to find out the program you speak of.

What made you think you had to download anything?

You do have to register to post, but don't you have to do that to be able to post on any board? You don't have to download anything to register. Registration is free, so I don't understand the issue here.

And I have to agree with what the others have said, NO SPYWARE in Stardock applications. There are well over 1 million registered users (in fact you are number 1,470,358), so I don't think that many users would have registered for a site that promotes software that contains spyware.

I'm curious as to how you ever came to the conclusion that there is any spyware in even one program from Stardock.

He's not coming back. Probably just another spammer from StyleXP.
