Wallpaper installation

I have downloaded some wallpapers and the zip archive contains them plus a .db file. Where should these be extracted to in order for them to work please?

I am using XP Pro if that helps.

Extract them to your Windows folder.

I assume you're referring to a Thumbs.db file. Those shouldn't even be in the zip, that's just sloppy zipping on the uploaders part. You don't need them.

i recomend you make 1 folder in your docs ( my wallpaper ) and place all your wallpaper is in the folder.
for use open the wallpaper with any software and choose apply, use for wallpaper.
or look for good manager of wallpaper http://www.wallpaperchanger.de/

I always put wallpapers in the My Pictures folder in My Documents and use them from there. You can right click on the picture's thumbnail and choose Set as desktop background from the menu choices.

Extract them to your Windows folder.

This is what I do too, and you can view/load them from Display Properties. I think the My Pictures folder works the same.

Or more specifically C:\WINDOWS\Web\Wallpaper if you want to put it at the same place as the other default Windows wallpapers.
