This is a strange question for the weekend, but do holstein cows sunburn ? I know white dogs do. I see a lot of the cows out in the sun here with no shade, and I was just wondering......

Well if cows are out in the harsh weather all day, why must we always run for cover from the rain when wearing a leather jacket? And further, why must we water proof our leather jackets? I don't see cows shrinking from the rain! Unless someone out there is running around spraying cows with water proofing and I wasn't aware of it!

Yes. Cattle do sunburn. However the hair is usually very thick and provides a decent sunscreen. All organic forms of life can get sunburned. >

Thank you Firedogs Ron for promptly clearing up this absolutly ludicrous "only pigs and people sunburn" debate going on here. I would like to also add that other animals such as cows, horses, dogs, cats, etc.. can and do get skin cancer also.

This ludicrous debate as you call it never took place - the myth was both acknowledged and dealt with in #4 in such a way as to gently move past it, this was then acknowledged by the original poster in #7 and after a bit of fun finally taken into wincustomizes own twilight zone by Jafo. It has since been played with and added too in various ways.
