Stardock Central crashes during its own update?

Has anyone had problems on XP with SD Central crashing while trying to update itself? You can't stop it from updating and it just crashes out everytime!

You could possibly try manually downloading the update instead of letting the program do it, but I'm just guessing on this, I don't use the program.

Or this if the one above doesn't solve your problem.

Best I can do.

I've had the same thing as well on XP - run SD Central, it detects an updated version, begins downloading it and then, during the download, crashes. I'll try the manual route. Thanks.

If you mean that SD Central crashes during the "checking for new and updated threads" process.... I had this problem for a while myself. I got this fix from T-man himself.

1.) Close the stardock central browser.

2.) Go to C/program files/Stardock/Stardock central/discussion. Select all the discussion .ini files and delete them.

3.) Then start Stardock Central again, and when it connects to the Stardock servers it will automatically re-download the .ini files again. This should stop it crashing whilst updating.
If it does not automatically download the .ini files, right click on each of the WC General, WC Help, and WC Skinning buttons, and click on reset list for each one. This will download each .ini file manually.

Well, this worked for me anyway...

If this is not your problem, then obviously..... disregard this post.

/me hopes he's not giving bad advice here....

If anyone knows better, please feel free to jump in here... (just trying to help)

Good advice Eric, except that what''s being discussed here is SDC crashing while downloading the latest update of the program. Your problem is a horse of a different color.
