Get yourself a decent ISP - you won't see the e-mails at all

Yeah I am not worried about myself. I can skin me a real big delete button. I just didnt know about the email spoofing. Maybe no big deal I just others might want to know that their addys are being used.

I think my hotmail is sending out stuff too. I dunno whats going on, or even if its possible....but I think somehow I'm sending stuff. Its strange.

Not that I've noticed, but I get tons of "Undeliverable Message: See transcript for details" with a very suspicios looking attachment.

I get the same kind of junk almost every day...

...And its not limited to hotmail either...Our ISP's (Roadrunner) email (which the 'house treasurer' uses) also gets a number of those...

Spoofed addy email virii is a common occurrence......if I had $1 for each one I received I'd have retired by now. $50 to $100 a day is good enough for anyone....

Me too, although mine hasn't been quite as high as 50 or 100 a day, thanks goodness.

It's a virus that someone or some people that use this site have on their PC's. It harvests the addresses and sends to a random one from a random one. This is why you get replies saying you sent out messages which you didn't. Unfortunately there's not a lot that can be done except the infected PC's owner realising it and cleaning it.

Yeah. I have been checking so far, but both virus scanners and ad-aware have found nothing.

yah

you go to wincustomize .. get infected with an email relay virus and here you go . It scans PC for files that can contain email addrerss including *.htm/html.

moral of the story, use raw text based emails. hehe.

really though, run yourself a good virus scanner and sit back comfortably and know you arn't the one doing it. it would be comming from anywhere.. WC's end, another users, even your ISP if they arn't taking proper precautions. i get them all the time as well but i know i'm clean.

Iget loads of those too. Can't say I'm too happy with the mere suggestion that I would send be dumb enough to send out virii to people. Nasty tactics.

On the other hand, I do appear dumb enough to type unintelligible. I swear, they imported skinz' mess-up-yer-post filter...

I wish we were able to hide our email addys on the GUIO site.

I got one from my isp's postmaster....but it wasn't the postmaster...it was some freak trying to gather account payment info...he got it lmao...
ch#: so and so
amount: $so and so
date: so and so....

then I called the ISP gave them his email address and a copy of the email so they can press charges

then I sent a message to MSN letting them know his email addy and that he was posing as a provider to harvest financial info

I'm such a witch hehehe

Haven't gotten anything like what you mentioned up there though...email pretty quiet!! I like it that way
