I don''t think you''d end up with the same wall. The resolution has already been downgraded from me using paint to turn it into a jpeg and I only see a different wall if you cut the edges off where the icons/winamp/taskbar are and then have it stretched to fit your screen making the resolution even worse. I''d say it''s worth the wall if a person is willing to deal with a lower quality wall and not the original. But whatever, the creator of the wall already said I made good use of it running linux.. which I wasn''t.. but I guess the Solara suite looks "that" much different from the default look.

B1uesummers, the screenshot under your username was not what I saw. You had a wallpaper from one of the Party Mode WMP skins from the Skins Factory. Atleast...that's what I saw...

B1uesummers.....last time I removed a screenshot here for the same issue I posted the 'extracted' wall to demonstrate how 'easy' it is...and degradation is not as bad as you'd suggest....anyway it's a moot point as any 'unobstructed' wall will be removed for the same reason....

Kona...one finds it at the GUIO....look for 'treetog' and follow the crowd....

I changed the screenshot in a matter of hours Hus so I don't think Jafo is talking about that shot. I did have a calendar taking a big chunk of the top left area of the shot anyway.

Jafo, last time I saw your extraction of a unobstructed wall in the screen shots section it looked like a hack job and the wall was a piece of crap. By crap I mean not the original and looking like someone cut out the icons/taskbar. Not sure if you think the main focal area of the wall is the only important part but in an anime wall the background is usually the only original part. The creator of the background said he liked what I did but next time I'll ask permission just to post the screenshot on wincustomize.

B1uesummers...yes, the wall WAS crap....but it was NOT the screenshot poster's 'crap' to distribute. I don't really care whether the extracted wall is less than optimum....particularly when the original 'anime' was rubbish anyway....if it is not yours to distribute it cannot be distributed without specific consent.  'Fair use' can only go so far.

End of story.

I wasn''t saying the original wall was crap and that shouldn''t matter even if it is, your version however showed that the wall was un-distributable and all you proved was that you could cut up a wall in 2 minutes.

But if you want to look in the grey area then my screenshot post was given permission because the creator of the wall already said he liked the use of his wall in my screenshot and didn''t get in a hissy fit about me distributing his wall without consent. So, I was given consent and it can go back up here right?
