would anyone know why the minimize and close buttons in the top right corner of the screen will not work when skinned? its only with internet explorer, i can close everything else by clicking the "x" but internet explorer will not. any explainations/solutions?

You probably have a third party extension/toolbar thingy in Explorer, such as Common Names or other crap like that. Disable it (View/Explorer Bar) or better yet, uninstall it and everything will be back to normal.

paxx's idea is better than mine, but it is also possible that certain skins are giving you the problem - such has happened to me where there was an error somewhere in a skin I used which made the close and restore buttons cold in certain programs. Perhapse try switching skins if you are using windowblinds.
