version 6 issues - rollback

I was until now on Fences 5, and today I got informed that I could install version 6. I did. And now, it's terribly sluggish. However, when I look at my product page, I can't see 5... and I've always been a legit user.
I currently have a valid license key for V6.
Can you help me revert to 5? Or give me a solution for my sluggishness problem? I already tried to change the rendering to fixed in Nvidia Control Panel. I also tried a purge/reinstall.

Hi HomeCallPC. Can you share more? What actions in particular feel sluggish. Thank you

Well... it will sound vague, but about everything. Resizing a fence, moving it around on screen, all of this lags terribly in version 6.x for me.
Deleting a file in a fence, same. Renaming it, same.
In the end, I looked into my older email notfications for messages from Stardock and found my old licence for version 5.89 along wiht the licence code. I uninstalled 6 and put that instead. The sluggishness is gone. So it's definitely something in 6 not agreeing with my system.
If it's any use I am on W11, with the latest nvidia graphics driver, and a rtx 3090.

Additional:
I tried updating again to 6. The only version I could get my hands on is the latest, 6.52. Worth noting, I used to do just fine with a prior version of 6, but I can't get my hands on that to experiment. Can I get some links please?

After the latest update to 6.52, I also have experienced sluggishness.

When I want to unhide the fences/icons (double-click desktop) there is little to no response for several seconds.
Also resizing/moving fences are sluggish
