Bug list

Apologies for any duplication, but here is a list of annoying bugs:

1/ When you use automatic commands (Mine asteroids, Colonise, Survey, Explore) they do not work well across sectors - ships get stuck, colonise worse planets, or try to mine/survey the same thing.

2/ Dialogs still crash into each other - you will be in the middle of one such as starbases when another such as research jumps up - often leading to accidentally closing them and missing the information. All dialogs should be application modal or at least queue up.

3/ When something happens at turn end such as needing to interact with a ship, it should cancel the turn end command - you may need to do something else. This is particularly notable in the starbase modules dialog.

4/ When using certain settings, hyperlanes can often be annoyingly long

5/ Mentioned in another thread but I also hit on this numerous times - capital buildings sometimes are unplaceable after cultural takeover of a planet.  Capital building shows on the build list, but can't be placed.

6/ Queued build orders in shipyards often fail for no reason, particularly queuing up station modules.  I couldn't figure out why I kept having to go through 10 different shipyards queuing up 10 or so orders every turn.  Turns out they just fail after the first build.  Same thing sometimes happens with the repeat order toggle, it just builds one thing anyways and quits.  Note these were not items using special resources (which should be spent anyways when you queue them up).

7/ Lots of missing functionality with the Civilization builder, even with the expansion pack for it.  In particular, you can't choose your 4 special factions for your Civ, nor do you know what they even are.  Many special stats for species are also hidden, such as level of criminality or how well they get along with other species.

8/ Flavor text is often Civ specific, even for generic choices.  In particular some techs and hero ships.  Minor nitpick, but someone should do a pass on that and reword or replace with variable strings.

...continued.  I'm playing again so I'll keep listing as I find them.

9/ The survey event that discovers a new world doesn't show me where it is, nor does it show on the map at all.  Sometimes I get lucky and the automation on the colony ship goes to it, and sometimes it goes off into la-la land.  Saving and reloading allows me to see it normally on the map as an uncolonized world.

This one is Old.

In the meantime, I have been selecting to view the uncolonized planet list and just selecting each till I find a Dead Planet in the list the next turn it will no longer be Dead but colonizable.

It is a PITA and should have been fixed.

PolecatXXX - I've been asking for this to be added since the game first came out.  I've given up hope of ever getting it.  Seems like such an easy add that would add a neat feature to Civ building.
