Two Bugs I've Encountered

Hello, I've been having these two issues across updates for a while now. The first one longer than the other, I'll break them both down below.

The first one involves launching programs through Start11 V2's start menu search bar. Sometimes it works fine and the start menu closes right after I launch something, but more often than not it hangs for at least ten to twenty seconds before closing. I created a dump file after one instance of this happening that can be viewed and downloaded here.

The second problem I have is regarding the transparent backgrounds of certain icons, it looks like they've become solid black or white. I tried rebuilding the icon cache and changing the icon sizes in Start11 V2's settings but they're still there for me. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Perhaps, something went wrong while installing Start11, Please try, uninstall Start11, reboot immediately (important), download latest version available in your account product download page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products. Install it, reboot immediately again. Retest it and report back.

If the issue still appear, we need more details.

  1. Windows 11 full version and OS Build number. Use Winver.exe to get these numbers.
  2. Start11 full version number install.

Hello,

Since I've made that post the first problem has seemingly disappeared on its own and I've not had it happen since then which is odd. The transparency issue I don't mind too much, so I'll deal with it. I did get a crash for Start11 that generated a dump file though, which I'll leave a link to here. Otherwise, everything's relatively fine again. I'll post here again if the first problem resurfaces and try a reinstall as you suggested.

Sorry, I am not really good in looking at dump file. One question, how many times does this crashes happened? Once in few hours or shorter?

Ah, no it's alright. I just tossed that dump file in with my follow-up post because I noticed it in my CrashDumps folder while checking for what information I could submit. That's the only dump file that I've seen related to Start11 so its only happened once, but I thought I might as well include it for any of the developers to take a look at. It might as well be unrelated to the problems I have.

Funnily enough, after I made the follow-up post the first issue came back again. So, I've done a full reinstall removing my old settings before restoring them again with a backup file. The transparency and menu hanging issues both still persisted after the reinstall, so it seems the problem might go deeper.

Oh, on another unrelated note when I reimported my settings it did not save the Taskbar Size I had originally set (Small) and so I just had to redo that real quick when it was on Medium. This is after I backed up my settings right before uninstalling.

Perhaps something running in your system is conflicting with Start11. Please try Windows Sandbox test: Refer here: https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1416855562/Testing+Start+in+Sandbox. Try that and report back.
