I can not change the start button to a different image
What is the problem???
How exactly are you trying to change the Start button?
Are you choosing one of the included start buttons, or trying to select a custom image?
Start buttons are a specific type of .png file that actually has three images for Normal, Hover, and Open.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Also, do you have Windowblinds running in the background. If you do, you will need to release Windowblinds from controlling the Start button style. Refer screenshot below turn on that setting.

No need to save the change. The start button should change as soon as you select it. After you make your selection, check your taskbar and see if it changed.
