WB Popup Conflict.

You may remember a few days ago I was having a problem with IE and WB and I got overly frustrated. Well after a lot of digging and some help from Stardock. I found that if I shut off Enable Third-Party Extentions that IE would work fine but I need some third party extentions to work. Anyway to make a long story short it was the popup blocker... PopThis...it was a popup blocker that was causing the problem. So I disabled it like I was told by Stardock. After disabiling it IE still did not work. So I took it to the last try I uninstalled PopThis completely turned back on Enable Third-Party Extentions, and rebooted. Now with PopThis gone completely IE works fine. But I would still like a good popup blocker that works with WB.

I know now that with a little patiants and kinder words things happen much easer and faster.

Good judgement comes form experience,
and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

Thanks for all the help, and I apologize

I can vouch for google bar too, though it was never 100% effective for me. Besides, I've switched to using the google desktop bar instead now as it has some nice features and avoids having a pluging for IE loaded.

I've also used Proxomitron http://www.proxomitron.info/ with good results to kill popups...it's also an extremly powerful tool for controlling all sorts of things in your browsing experience if you wish to...it's not the easiest thing to use and can confuse if you don't understand what goes on in http.

Pop Up Stopper from http://www.panicware.com is good. They have a freeware version that has always worked well for me. And no conflicts with any Stardock products.

I have put Google Bar on to check it out. Right now it wants to slow down Wincustomize while the popup illimator is on , but it runs better with it disabled. I have also went to other sites with it on and it works great. Thanks to the info.

I hate to say that I told you so. But... It was a conflict after all and not windowblinds doing.

NIS Professional has it all, but its not free.
Great Pop Up blocker, great firewall, great virus scanner, plus much more.

I'm currently using the Popup blocker in the Yahoo Companion toolbar. I would prefer to use the Google bar but until it allows you to store your internet favorites so that you can access them anywhere like Yahoo does, I guess I'm relegated to typing google into the address bar before searching...

Glad to hear everything worked out!!

I suggest that you go to your computer retail store for NIS Professional. But a link about it is below and you can find out more info and its program functions. I think this program is the best online security. You can probably get better prices at your retail computer store.http://www.symantecstore.com/dr/sat3/ec_MAIN.Entry10?V1=30010186&SP=10024&PN=28&xid=27674&DSP=&CUR=840&PGRP=0&CACHE_ID=0
