Shortcut Icon Option Resolutions

Hello! I would like to simply ask what resolutions Start11 v2 are pulling from a program's icon size range in the options menu just to quickly reference.

The option in-question.

On an unrelated note I did also notice this typo for the "Offset the menu from the taskbar" option, but I haven't checked to see if anyone's submitted a report about it.

If I may follow-up with another question to be forwarded, may I ask if the 'Scale' settings found in Windows' Display settings tab has any contributing effect towards how the icons in the Start Menu are shown? I have some icons that don't seem to scale fully; I've gotten confirmation from one of the devs of those softwares that their icons scale up to 512x512 too. So I'd like to know on which end it'd be for the icons appearing this way.

Hello, I believe this depends on the icons provided by each application. Some applications include multiple icon sizes, while others only supply a single size. Because of that, certain icons may not scale correctly.

Perhaps you can try to use custom icons or images when there is icon that don't size correctly.

Thank you,

Yes I understand that, I'd just like to get the icon resolutions that Start11 pulls when choosing each of those options above still just so I can make sure and check if everything lines up!

Not really sure what you're trying to get to? Please elaborate with some some screenshot might help understand it better.

I'd like to know which resolution each option is using in the initial post I made, so like if "Extra Large" is using 512x512, and so on and so forth.

If the icon has a grey box around it then the app lacks high resolution icons.  Usually nothing above 48*48.

We try our best to avoid this but sometimes it is not possible and the box is added by the OS when requesting bigger sizes.

Icons requested scale with os resolution.  Windows will typically downscale the 256*256 icon to whatever we request.

Ah, thank you for the insight Neil! Although I would also like to point out that it seems the icons do scale properly when I view a Fences tab within the Start11 Start Menu (as seen in this screenshot here with Shutter Encoder which had the grey box before), while the icons on the pinned tab weren't which is very interesting. Do the tabs both scale or handle icons differently or is Fences doing the scaling in this case?

The icon loading is identical but one may be from a different shortcut which points to a different icon file.

Just as a quick update, I took a look at where both the Desktop and Start Menu shortcuts were pointed to in looking for icons and found that they both were looking at the same .exe file.

I'm aware this isn't a significant issue to warrant putting a lot of effort into for fixing (if it is on Start11's end), but I do like digging through and finding stuff like this so that maybe it could be noted down in the future. Otherwise, I don't have any major concerns and I was only posting out of mild curiosity!
