To Keep Going Is All I Know, Been Living With This Now For Several Years, Vascular Dementia Sufferers Have It Harder Than Alzheimer's As We Are Aware Of Every Back Step We Take, I Have Taken A Few Back Steps More Than I Expected Last Year. I Am Lucky Though, I Have Lived A Life Some Can Only Dream About After A Lifetime Of Soldiering, Seen The World, Made Bonds That Will Last, Seen The Very Worst Of Mans Cruelty To Other Men Up Close, And Loved People Deeply And Been Lucky To Have That Love Returned. Dry socks?

They told me wet socks was proper uniform wear if they were dry, I was out of uniform.

Oh, well Emersion Foot is 10% disability in each foot.

You Got It gypsy2299. Although The British Legion Are Only Interested In Compo For Time Served In The Regulars. Even Though 2 Of My Tours In Africa Was Funded By The British, Protecting Copper Mining, I Was Not There For Queen And Country.

I., before the Navy Doc stint, I was airborne qualified in an armored recon platoon. That was the 1973 war. Yes...dry socks and clothing and a warm balaclava and kaffiyah with goggles meant not freezing one's (eye)balls off during the winter in a jeep in the desert at 3 a.m.  x_x

73 a great year.

Visited the Walls of Constantinople in Sept and was waiting for a ride to the big Airport near Spring Lake NC that had the same first name as the top leader of the world's largest Christian denomination for a flight south of the Walls in Oct.

Was somewhat looking forward to that flight as they said I was going to visit Mount Sinai

They did say I would have to watch the first step out of the plane as it would be one of 600 to 1200 feet as they would not have permission to fly any lower and did not have a place to stop, also I would be carrying all my luggage with me including my boss's smart phone that was 50 lbs.  but still:grin:

Boss's smart phone was 22 lbs. called a PRC 77 but had a privacy device that was a separate 30 lbs. add on.

The Military Is Not For Everyone, But It Seems To Have Made Us The People We Are Today

And vice versa, I.

You know, despite "The Gladiator", there's a curious lack of evidence the soldiers of the legions ever said "Robur et honorem" to each other.

Robur et honorem

Agreed S.

We were saying it long before the 2000s Amongst Other Things. We Would Say other things like "Lux Et Robur" As More of a sign of Respect and Motivation to Get Into The Right Mindset Before A Patrol, to encourage Unity, this phrase indeed is connected To My Own Part Of The World, A High School and A Football Team (Soccer To Others), although i have never heard it used by Football Fans of the said Club, even though My Own Daughter Played For The Woman's Team, but they adopted it as their coat of arms. All Those Who Have Stood On A Line And Told The Bad Guys, You Shall Not Pass, Have My Utmost Respect, You And gypsy Both. We Fought For The Man To The Left And Right Of Us, They Did Exactly The Same, Warriors Get And Understand Other Warriors, As We Share A Life Lived In Uniform No Matter The Country.
