Start11 2.56 Beta Feedback

Start11 2.56 Beta Feedback

With the Start11 2.56 beta release today, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.

Obtaining Object Desktop Insider Builds

Object Desktop Manager

Object Desktop members can get beta and Insider builds from within Object Desktop Manager with 'Enable Object Desktop Insider builds' enabled:

Reporting an issue

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)

  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen

  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post.  Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.

  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Start11 v2 a better product.

After one of the 2.5.6.x updates, getting tray notifications freeze and crash explorer. Doesn't seem to start happening until after windows is running for some time. Everything is good on a fresh boot.

Are you using the latest 2.5.6.3 update?

Quoting viexi,

I've updated to this beta and still have this start icon cutoff issue that was also present in 2.55.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. If you use any of the custom start buttons, especially those large ones, that come along with Start11, do you see the cutoff issue? If not, perhaps, you can share your custom icons so we can see if we can reproduce your issue with this specific start button.

Thank you,
Basj,
Stardock Community Assistant.

Heya thanks for responding.

I have just tested it with the built-in large icons and I get an identical issue. My custom start button was made by copying the existing large icons and using them as a template.

If you turn use the default Start button icon, do you still see the issue?

This is what I get when using large icons. Do you see the same, if not please post what you saw using this icon.

Also, please upload your custom Start button icon, and share it, post its link here so I can test it on my system.

Thank you,
