I login to Object Desktop, but OD does not show as registered

I have to say that the license activation process and experience for Object Desktop and associated software is very poor.

I had Object Desktop installed as a Trial version. I decided to purchase it, which I did using my Stardock account.

I then opened Object Desktop, and logged into my account.

But Object Desktop STILL does not show as being licensed.

It also does not give me ANY place to enter an existing license key.

Purchase takes me to a webpage to purchase it, which I have already done.

This is an never ending loop.

I have another machine that I installed Object Desktop on, and logged in using my account. It DOES appear to have recognised my license.

But when I install the other software (like Start 11, Fences etc) they all have a pop up asking for a licence key. Object Desktop is supposed to be controlling all that.

One of the CRITICAL aspects of licensing software is that your software has to be able to recognise that software has actually been licensed.

So far, this is a failure.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. The Object Desktop manager do not manage your license and activation. It only manage your installation and version update. You will need to activate each product individually.

To login in Object Desktop, referring to your screenshot above. Click on that empty avatar icon (top right) and you should able to login to Object Desktop.

I am already logged in. I logged in to my Stardock account on Object Desktop.

I actually had to log OUT of my account on Object Desktop, then enter the serial number and email address in the pop up that came up when I started Object Desktop.

Then it registered the serial number.

Itr should have registered my license when I logged into my stardock account in Object Desktop.

As for Object Desktop not managing licenses... Then what's the point of it? Its a bit convenient as a central point.

But every other tool I have that manages multiple items ALSO manages their licensing automatically. That is one of the main selling points of such tools.

Besides, when the licensing popup came up for an application, I just closed the window.

And when I go into the installed applications, they all show as being licenced..

So yes, there is automatic licensing happening. Its just being ignored by the first time startup of these applications.

I'm simply explaining what it is, though you're free to see it differently.

Unfortunately, Object Desktop Manager (ODM) won't get you where you wish to arrive, StorminNZ. I can understand how the illogic of the situation is irritating, but basj is only trying to help you to enjoy your software purchase.

I myself stopped using ODM long ago, and advise you do the same...it simply isn't up to the task it was originally designed to do, mostly because Microsoft kept changing W11 so often that many beta versions of SD's software apps were created to help users...and ODM couldn't sort all that out.

Lets ignore other apps and their keys. That seems like its not supposed to be a function of ODM.

My core issue is that logging into my account via Object Desktop does not then pull in my purchased key, to show ODM as being registered.

And THEN there is no way to ENTER my existing key while I'm logged in to ODM.

My only option I can find is to click purchase.

This is either a bug, or a serious defect in the interface.

How do I get this information to someone at Stardock?

From your post in your other thread: https://forums.stardock.com/538358/get;3979139.

From the screenshot you shared, it looks like you’re at the login box. Could you please try entering your Object Desktop product key along with the email address linked to your purchase? If it doesn’t let you log in, could you let me know what error message appears?

Thank you,
