With the Start11 2.55 beta release today, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

Obtaining Object Desktop Insider Builds

Object Desktop Manager

Object Desktop members can get beta and Insider builds from within Object Desktop Manager with 'Enable Object Desktop Insider builds' enabled:

Obtaining Beta Releases

Stardock.com

If a beta was released, Object Desktop Members would see it in the ‘Object Desktop’ section.

Individual purchases would see it on their registration of the product under their download page.

Steam

  • Right-click the Product in Steam

  • Properties

  • Betas

  • Select the beta branch at the top right (there is no password)

Reporting an issue

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)

  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen

  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post.  Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.

  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

Perhaps, if you have not try it, Please try, uninstall Start11, reboot immediately (important), download latest version available in your account product download page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products. Install it, reboot immediately again. Retest it and report back.

I tried to reinstall the program, although I was sure in advance that this would not solve the problem. I tried to establish the latest final version, the previous beta version and the version that had just been released - this has not led to anything, there is no avatar. For the sake of interest, I tried, in addition to my native menu, the start, where everything is perfectly displayed, activate the start menu in the Startallback program - everything also works in it and is displayed without problems (the video is attached). The problem with compatibility with the new version of the window is only at the start11.

 

P.S. Of the advantages in the new version, I can note that after 6 versions of the program, you finally fixed the context menu for added shortcuts of portable programs - thank you very much. But you haven’t done the translation of "Autohide Taskbar", you probably will have to wait another year ...) In addition, you did not fix the problem with a change in the color of the "Localsend" program added to the Start11, which for some reason adds red color by default, and after adding to Start11. The video is in one of my earlier comments. I really hope to see everything in the next version the correction of everything that I listed above. Thank you in advance.

In the en.lng file here

C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Start11\lang

There are "English"="English" word and phrase pairs

In the ru.lng file, there are "English"="Russian" pairs.  If you find the line that is there in English but not correct on the Russian side, you can manually correct it.

If the entire English line is missing, add it to the bottom of the ru.lng file with that same "English"="Russian" format.

Either of those should resolve your issue.  If not, what is the exact line in the en.lng file or does it not exist in it?  Where exactly does the text appear in the Start11 UI or when the product it being used (context menu for example).

Auto is there.

Add this to the bottom of the ru.lng file

; Missing before 2.55
"All applications"="Все приложения"
"Autohide taskbar"="Автоматически скрывать панель задач"

That should work... (if not make it not fit as Russian can be very verbose)
