FastSpring and Automatic Account renewal

I was suprised by a pair of emails this morning informing me that my subscription to ObjectDesktop was automatically going to be renewed by a company named FastSpring.

This really took me off guard because:

* I had paid my subscription fee for ObjectDesktop a week ago.

* I have never dealt with FastSpring before in my relationship with Stardock - always paying Stardock directly.

* I have never authorized Stardock (who had now setup an account action to automatically renew my subscription) to allow for auto-subscribing me for anything.

I have enjoyed the capability that ObjectDesktop gave me to customize my desktop for several years.  However, this automatic subscrption thing has me a bit spooked on the company.  I did go into my account and cancel the automatic subscriptions.  But the very fact that this became a thing concerns me.

You don't even want to read the public posts about FastSpring.

Just posting this as a friendly advisement to others who might see the same emails.
