Start11 2.52 Beta Feedback Thread

With the Start11 2.52 beta release today, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.

Reporting an issue

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)

  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen

  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post.  Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.

  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Start11 v2 a better product.

Let me give you more detail here:

Windows 11 Insider Build 27858, I'm Canary branch, so I expect things to break from time to time.

When I installed the patch, it had overwrote the start menu settings and forced it back to the default Win 11 Start menu style.  So I figured just swap it back and no issue, but the settings in Start11V2 didn't change this time.

So I figured I'd try the beta release, and it worked on install, changed the menu.  Once I rebooted, Windows 11 took the task back over again, restarting services doesn't change it either.

I'm happy to provide any feedback / logs that might be helpful to the team.

FYI, I am seeing the same issue on Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5651 (KB5060818) Dev Channel. This is just for your information since I understand that Windows Insider Preview Builds are not supported.

Does the Windows key open it?

It sounds like the service might not be running at all.  Check nothing is interfering with the service startup.  Are the Start11 processes in the Taskmanager running processes list?
