Something's Lagging 2.5 Big Time

Something's Lagging 2.5 Big Time

I don't know what's doing it, but I've been experiencing periods where, after working in a program for a while, then needing to switch to another that's already running behind the current app or minimized, clicking on the other apps taskbar icon does nothing. So, I'll click it again, because that's what us human chimpanzees do when it doesn't work on the first try.  Then I start clicking on other icons, because surely one of those will work better.  Then I get frustrated and beat my keyboard with my banana.  But then at some point, Start11 seems to say, "Oh!  Sorry I was sleeping there for a minute.  Let me do all those things you just asked me to do" and windows start coming up, going down, coming to the front, going to the back, and whatever.   Kind of like a delayed playback of mouse clicks.

I have the taskbar visuals set to give it rounded corners (I think that's the styling term used for it) and I might see that appearance change, during all this monkeying around, like as if it was set to a normal style taskbar, then become detached and with the rounded corners.  Don't know if related.

Anyway, all was well with Start11 before I installed the new version over this past weekend which seems to coincide with the email notifications I got that 2.5 was now available.

Any of this making sense?  Anybody else having super-lag?

Win11 24H2, Origin Evo17S, i9-12900H, RTX3080Ti mobile edition.  Everything's current.

I'm also happy to report that the new 2.51 update has fixed my freezing issues with MediaMonkey 2024. The only thing I've noticed, is that it can take a few seconds for MediaMonkey to hand taskbar focus back to the last app when I minimize it - but I haven't noticed this in normal use - so the issue is fixed for me. Thanks to the OP for reporting this, and for everyone's help on here.

(edited for clarity).

Nice! Glad it's fixed.

MediaMonkey is a good media player with great library management and tagging. I don't use it myself in my system (I use JRiver and Roon). But I have tested it and knew it did weird and unconventional things in the taskbar. So I mentioned that. It is something that Stardock should be made aware of. So they can test it and make sure MediaMonkey works properly during testing and development of Start11 updates. MediaMonkey is doing some unconventional stuff in the taskbar that Start11 will need to be able to deal with.
